The Mage Tower will return this year to WoW with a Legion Timewalking event

After taking off from the games live, the Mage Tower event returns to World of Warcraft. The Mage Tower is one of WoW’s most extensive pieces of content with seven unique challenges designed for different classes and specializations.

With the Tower's return in Shadowlands Patch 9.1.5 via Timewalking, Blizzard has revealed new rewards for players that tackle the updated challenges, the latest of which is a special mount that may be familiar to players who voted in last year's Shadowlands Mount Poll.

That’s right, Legion Timewalking brings us a way to get the book we all desperately want to stand on while it flies around. Actually, this doesn’t sound safe at all, and maybe we should rethink the whole Jellycat thing. Or maybe the caterpillar…

More intrepid players who complete all seven challenges across different characters will earn a unique mount, the Soaring Spelltome. Last year, the Soaring Spelltome was introduced to the WoW community as a potential addition to the game through a fan vote for a new mount but lost out to the Wandering Ancient. Now, the Soaring Spelltome is back in the game’s files and is available for players to earn as a reward from the upcoming Mage Tower event.

Yes, all seven of them. However, you’re not required to do all seven on one character. In fact, that’s impossible, as the encounters are split up so that specific classes and specs get access to them.

  •     “Closing the Eye” for Frost Death Knight, Havoc Demon Hunter, Survival Hunter, Subtlety Rogue, and Arms Warrior.
  •     “An Impossible Foe” for Unholy Death Knight, Feral Druid, Fire Mage, Outlaw Rogue, Elemental Shaman, and Fury Warrior.
  •     “The God-Queen’s Fury” for Arcane Mage, Retribution Paladin, Assassination Rogue, Enhancement Shaman, and Demonology Warlock.
  •     “Feltotem’s Fall” for Beast Mastery Hunter, Windwalker Monk, Discipline Priest, and Destruction Warlock.
  •     “The Highlord’s Return” for Blood Death Knight, Vengeance Demon Hunter, Guardian Druid, Brewmaster Monk, Protection Paladin, and Protection Warrior.
  •     “End of the Risen Threat” for Restoration Druid, Mistweaver Monk, Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, and Restoration Shaman.
  •     “Thwarting the Twins” for Balance Druid, Marksmanship Hunter, Frost Mage, Shadow Priest, and Affliction Warlock.

The master must complete all seven o’clock events. A great combination of characters to approach the Mage Tower with are Mage/Monk and Druid/Hunter, since these combinations cover six of the seven challenges on their own, so they can barely overlap their specializations. To complete the seven challenges, you’ll have to play each game.

The Mage Tower will open later this year when the Legion Timewalking event begins in WoW. The event will be available to play through for two weeks before the Timewalking cycle begins again.
